Job Description
Sales Manager
This position is to boost Thankyou Payroll’s client acquisition. You will be responsible for all sales related job tasks, from making contacts to generating leads to converting leads into clients. Your role is to establish and develop positive business and client relationships, and
see them through to Thankyou Payroll’s onboarding process. You will be a great networker, good at strategy and getting in front of the right people, and actively engaging prospective clients and business networks. You’ll have a good feel for social and environmental marketing/sales tactics. You’ll increase awareness of Thankyou Payroll’s product and brand, endorsing our significant points of difference, and know how to present and promote a good service, making Thankyou Payroll an easy choice for employers.
You’ll work autonomously for the most part, and partially in collaboration with our Marketing and Partnerships Manager, to realise targets, and will contribute to our customer success strategy. You’ll be a confident speaker and comfortable talking to new people. You’ll represent Thankyou Payroll at events, conferences, and seminars as required. You’ll keep up to date with Thankyou Payroll’s software service features. You’ll be savvy with social media, knowing how to use it to a sales advantage.
Reports to: Product Manager
Working relationships with:
CEO, CTO, Marketing mgr, Core Services mgr, Partnerships mgr, Help Desk Manager, other TYP employees, and Thankyou Payroll clients

Key Responsibilities:
1. Create leads and convert into clients
2. Set sales strategies to meet targets
3. Promote and represent Thankyou Payroll
4. Identify barriers
5. Work as part of the Thankyou Payroll team
1. Create leads and convert into clients
a. Identify prospective clients, and create lead generation
b. Network: Seek out opportunities to form strategic relationships with potential
clients, partner organisations, and key industry representatives
c. Grow and nurture relationships with agents and those key multipliers who work
with numerous employers
d. Prioritise and manage prospective leads in Hubspot CRM
e. Nurture leads through to the onboarding process to increase likelihood to commit
f. Once converted, introduce key agents/contacts/partners to Strategic Partnerships
to manage
g. Engage CEO when necessary to provide guidance to businesses and/or
organisations through the onboarding process
2. Set sales strategies to meet targets
a. Establish sales strategy and timeframes
b. Provide information on conversion rate, and which sales tactics are indicating
success (a successful conversion is determined by a client processing their first
pay)
c. Provide information on the amount of new sign up’s (opened an account, but
have yet to process a pay)
d. Identify areas where sales structure could be strengthened, including in the
onboarding process
3. Promote and represent Thankyou Payroll
a. Identify and attend appropriate conferences, seminars, and events to promote
TYP, our brand, and engage prospective clients
b. Utilise Thankyou Payroll’s social media channels to build our audience
c. Work with in-house designer to create promotional material
d. Identify strategic opportunities for CEO or CTO to engage in speaking
engagements and/or meetings to boost client uptake
e. Work with Marketing Manager to coordinate promotional campaigns and/or
product/feature releases
4. Identify barriers
a. Identify barriers for businesses/organisations wanting to use Thankyou Payroll
b. Identify barriers in the onboarding process that could hinder conversions
c. Work with the CEO and CTO (and others as appropriate) to find innovative
solutions to barriers
d. Recommend and adopt as appropriate improvements in the sales process to
enable more businesses to commit to using Thankyou Payroll
5. Work as part of the Thankyou Payroll team
a. Work with team members to develop sales and promotional opportunities
b. Maintain liaison with all staff at TYP in order to provide the best information and
play a role in supporting the wider team
c. Provide regular reports to the CEO as required
d. Identify opportunities for professional development to continue professional
growth
e. Participate in Thankyou Payroll team building activities
