About Teach First NZ
Teach First NZ is an innovative non-profit organisation, inspired by a highly successful global model, set up to tackle educational inequality in New Zealand. In the short-term we attract talented graduates and early career professionals to teach in lower decile schools on a two-year leadership development programme. In the long-term we aim to build a network of alumni leaders, who continue to work towards educational equity for all in a range of fields.

Position summary
This is a unique opportunity for a recent graduate or early career professional to be at the centre of a fun team who not only has a huge vision for New Zealand, but also the creativity, determination and innovation to make it happen.

You will be a keen team player who is energetic, adaptable and able to responsively provide support to the team. You will also have your own projects and responsibilities to take full ownership of.

Your excellent communication skills will be in demand daily as you work across different teams and represent Teach First NZ externally both online and in person.

Position responsibilities
Managing internal and external events, and associated public relations and communications.
Coordinating and providing logistical support for team events (including Team Retreats, social events and planning days)
General office management (e.g. stationary, equipment etc.)
Providing administrative support as required to the Chief Executive, Board and senior team

Maintaining and developing Teach First NZ’s digital presence in partnership with the Recruitment Team (including the charity’s website, social media and marketing)
Preparing and managing communications with stakeholders, both verbal and written
Preparing newsletters and other communications for corporate and philanthropic supporters, Alumni, and the wider Teach First NZ community
Supporting the Alumni Committee as necessary, including crafting and managing Alumni Communications

Programmatic Support:
Working with the Teacher Preparation and Support (TPS) and Recruitment teams in:
communicating with successful applicants regarding programme logistics,
managing administration involved with school appointments, university enrolment processes, and school visit logistics,
Managing Education Council registration processes,
Arranging and managing accommodation and financial arrangements
