Impact Hub Waikato is looking for a Managing Director & Director of Entrepreneurship to join and hold a key role in our growing team. Help us accelerate Impact through the means of business!!
Impact Hub is on a mission to change the way we do business. Founded in the Waikato in 2019 we are increasing our impact rapidly and are constantly expanding our reach and offering. We are now present in Hamilton and Tokoroa, delivering services in the Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Auckland, but we have the strong ambition to amplify the Impact Business sector on a national scale. Role overview
The responsibility of the Director is to lead the development, the offering and the delivery of all services directed at supporting businesses on their entrepreneurial journey. We currently primarily focus on supporting impact entrepreneurs through programmes and 1-2-1 consulting services enabling them to become more commercially successful and to accelerate their impact. However, we also see great potential and opportunity to reach out to not-for-profit organizations or purely for-profit businesses and transition them to an impact business model.
As a Managing Director you would join the team as a member of the board and therefore have a prominent leadership role in the company, with the intention to become a co-owner. You will co-lead the further development and expansion of the company with a strong focus on setting strategic direction, developing key partnerships, business development and ensuring quality in delivery.

An authentic, positive personality with a true believe in and passion for impact and other ways of doing business;
A structured, organized leader with experience in business leadership and able to guide teams.

Lead the development, funding, sourcing and execution of the entrepreneurial/venture building programmes;
Lead the consultancy practice by creating a funnel, setting up approaches of delivery (with associates) and ensuring quality of delivery;
Research & develop new services to expand the current offering by adding in niche programmes, short courses or other initiatives;
Build strategic partnerships & collaborative projects within the impact ecosystem (including with businesses, councils, partnership organizations);
The leadership responsibilities in the organisation will be defined in more detail based on the competencies and complementary skills of the leadership team.

Impact Hub Waikato offers a base fixed salary with the opportunity of a strong flexible additional salary. Furthermore, there is an incentive and intention for the chosen candidate to become a co-owner.

About Impact Hub Waikato
With over 100 locations around the world, Impact Hub is one of the world’s largest networks focused on building entrepreneurial communities for social and environmental impact at scale.
As a first in NZ, Impact Hub Waikato was founded in April 2019, and opened its first two co-working spaces in 2020 in Hamilton and in Tokoroa.
In 2020 Impact Hub Waikato ran their first programmes, the Generation Impact Fellowship, an APAC regional programme focused on leadership, and the Open Challenge Accelerator, a programme designed for start-ups ready to scale. In 2021 we started with two cohorts of the “Back to Purpose” programme, a 10 week incubator programme designed to help entrepreneurs set up a company based on their business idea.
