Be a key advisor to the Minister of Health
Lead and manage a range of primary health care programmes
Collaborate with primary care and cross-Ministry teams, DHBs, and stakeholders
We are looking for an experienced people leader who has managed complex medium-to-large sized teams to lead our Primary Care Team through this challenging time.

The Primary Care team sits within the Ministry’s “Health System Improvement and Innovation” Directorate. The Directorate supports and promotes innovation and continuous system improvements through quality commissioning and policy, effective regulation, and evidence-based decision making.
As the Manager of Primary Care, you will be part of an exciting time in primary care as we take on board the recommendations from the upcoming Health and Disability System Review and as we progress the innovation that has come about from the health and disability system response to COVID-19.
You will provide thought leadership and be able to identify and resolve cross-sector issues. You will also support and nurture Primary Care team members to ensure they produce high quality advice for the Minister of Health.
Your ability to form relationships within the Primary Care and cross-Ministry teams, Districts Health Boards (DHBs) and other key stakeholders will be key in driving collaboration. You will manage a range of Primary Health Care programmes, lead projects, and oversee the provision of Primary Care-related advice and reporting.

To be successful in this position you will need to;
Be an influencer who demonstrates strong leadership skills
Have significant experience leading complex teams that successfully deliver comprehensive and diverse work programmes
Be a strategic thinker who can prioritise and adapt
Build collaborative relationships across large organisations and with key stakeholders
Have proven experience in analysing and interpreting data
Have a tertiary qualification relating to health and social services, and an excellent understanding of government, finances, and key government policies.
