General Manager – Circability

Job Description
About us:
Circability is a unique and award-winning circus-arts organisation, based on the principles of social circus to improve lives through ‘inclusion in action’. We deliver circus arts classes, community events and workshops as an intentional, creative and dynamic form of social intervention.
Our unique point of difference is that we address social isolation through social circus in our communities, particularly for disabled and at risk youth.
We deliver our service from our beautiful heritage headquarters based in Victoria Park, and provide outreach programmes which extend across the Auckland and Northland regions.
Due to organisational change, we are seeking a new General Manager to take the organisation to new heights.

What we are seeking:
Circability is seeking a dynamic, innovative and process driven leader to take the helm. Circability is poised to deliver during 2021 and beyond, with a stable financial model and governing board of trustees. You will have opportunities to grow the team and implement operating procedures to support the agile delivery of the organisation. We need a new GM that will take us to the next level.
This senior position may come from a variety of different management backgrounds, however, we would encourage those with an interest in the creative, social and disability not for profit sector to apply. Quite literally, no two days will be the same, so we need a leader that can ‘juggle’ (and don’t worry – we don’t mean this literally!).
Reporting to the Board, the General Manager will deliver on the Strategic Plan, vision, and identify new pathways for growth. Key responsibilities include budgeting, reporting and evaluation, day to day operations and building stakeholder relationships. Communication skills are critical, as well as experience with managing the delivery of a diverse programme of works. We ask that candidates are committed to growing knowledge of the requirements of the disability sector and respect the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
In return, we offer opportunity for flexible working (minimum of 30 hours required, full time is preferable but negotiable for the right candidate), and a supportive, creative and fulfilling environment to thrive in.
