Crisis Services Manager – Counselling Services Centre – Auckland

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and qualified social services leader with a knowledge of the dynamics of sexual violence, and experience in crisis intervention.
Leading a dedicated multi-disciplinary team, this role requires an empathetic and transparent leader who can inspire others to fulfil their potential while providing best practice care to clients. You will be a calm and experienced leader who prides yourself on your ability to create a culture of collaboration and support as you pursue with the team innovative improvement opportunities that are focussed on meeting client needs.

About the Role
This permanent full time role is based in Manukau, leading a diverse 24/7 team who provide support in a sensitive and appropriate manner for people in Counties Manukau affected by sexual violence. In this role you will guide and lead the team of dedicated Crisis Response Workers, Counsellors and Social Workers to assist in the seamless delivery of support and advocacy to families/whanau. It may include some frontline support when needed, helping clients through police, health processes and court. This role holds a key relationship with the police and medical stakeholders for our organisation and is also responsible for accurate statistics and reporting on Crisis Team activities.
In addition to being a trusted and qualified social services leader, the following skills and experience are needed to set you up for success:
Full membership or registration with a governing body, e.g. NZAC or SWRB
A client-centric approach with the ability to foster a positive team culture
Experience in developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
Operational leadership and capacity planning experience
The ability to think on your feet, cope with diverse situations and make sound decisions
A demonstrated commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Ideally you will have links to local iwi and other relevant Māori networks
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A high degree of professionalism
Strong business acumen and reporting skills
Advanced computer literacy

Counselling Services Centre (CSC) is a not for profit agency located in Papatoetoe, South Auckland. We have been providing counselling and practical support to the Counties Manukau community since 1986. As demand for our services has increased our team has grown substantially since 2017. We are continuing that growth, increasing our services to support our community.

Our Services include:
Crisis Response Team
24/7 free and confidential crisis response service for anyone affected by sexual harm, which includes assault or abuse.
Court Support
Free and confidential support for people who go through the justice process, before, during and after trial.
Counselling Team
Our counselling team accept self-referrals and referrals from other agencies and services. Our counsellors are registered with a professional body such as NZAC and NZCCA, and most are ACC registered.

Social Work
Our social work team provide advocacy, support services and resources to our clients. Our social workers are registered with SWRB.
