About the company

The New Zealand Fire Service is a large organisation spread geographically throughout NZ, comprising of five different regions with around 400 stations and 8,000 firefighters spread throughout the country. Region 3 Headquarters is in Wellington providing support to all of the brigades in the bottom half of the North Island.

About the role

Applications are sought from suitably qualified candidates who can provide high quality business support to the Region team. This is a full time (40 hours per week), fixed-term role to 30 June 2016.

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team providing general and financial administrative support to the Region, with responsibility for implementing, reviewing and maintaining national administration processes and systems.

Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

A thorough knowledge of modern office administration procedures and systems
Accounts receivable and payable and an understanding of budget processes
An understanding of asset management processes
Sound communication, both verbal and written
Full competency in the MS Office suite of applications
A motivated, flexible and proactive attitude
The ability to work as an effective and collaborative team member.
