Assistant Manager – Hopper Shop Refill and Cafe

Job Description
Hopper Refill Shop is a sustainable food refill business in Wellington.
We are situated in the Hopper Home Enterprise Hub which also is home to Kaibosh, a charity collecting and redistributing food. Our focus is on zero waste and community engagement. We sell mainly bulk food without packaging. We support local suppliers as much as possible. Our welcoming shop host talks and events. customers.
Hopper shop is still in development, so we are seeking someone who has experience in growing a small business and will be fully engaged with the ethos of being part of the solution towards a more connected sustainable community that wants to do the right thing.
The assistant manager position at Hopper is a varied role and you will be joining a caring, friendly and responsible team.

Shop floor operational tasks which include:
Opening and closing of the shop, including some weekend shifts
Overseeing social media and marketing
Researching and sourcing new products
Assisting with stock ordering, and liaising with suppliers
Understanding an implementing the shop health and safety requirements

Able to work efficiently, responsibly and in an organised way
You must be able to work in a team and on your own
You have retail and marketing experience
You are passionate for the environment and sustainable business initiatives
You have some computer skills to assist with posting on social media and updating our website
You have very good oral and written communication
Hours are 20-22 hours per week.
Start dates are flexible, but we hope to have someone training in December.
