Relationship management with NGOs

Since the transfer of Housing Assessment services to MSD, the Social Housing function within MSD has extended its focus beyond the delivery of assessment services to take a leading role in managing the social housing register and Income Related Rent Subsidy purchasing function.
We have been looking at innovative ways to increase housing supply and manage demand for social housing. To support this activity, there is an increased focus on working with community housing providers to increase the supply of social housing opportunities and provide better outcomes for tenants. With the rise in engagement with providers the housing contract team requires additional resource in the shape of a permanent Contracts Advisor to support the associated Community Housing contracting service requirements.
Reporting to the National Manager Contracts (Housing) you will provide contracts advisory services to the Contracts Team. This role offers the opportunity to be involved in contract management spanning establishment, negotiation, implementation and monitoring on a national basis.
One of your primary responsibilities will be to provide advice and support to internal stakeholders on national contract management policies and procedures. Specifically you will provide tenancy management and contract support particularly in relation to new capacity contracts. You will participate in the establishment of national contracts with suppliers that maximise the Ministry’s purchasing power.
You will need to be focused, highly organised and enjoy working with detail and we will be fully utilising your sound relationship and analytical skills. As well as an inquiring mind and an eye for detail, you enjoy working both independently and as part of a team.
Pivotal to your success in this role will be your excellent relationship management skills and experience and understanding of the NGO sector. As a confident and capable communicator, you will demonstrate an ability to convey complex information simply and clearly. An understanding of financial management and contract processes or would be an advantage but is not essential.
Please note that a driver’s license will be required as you will be regularly visiting various service providers.
