Here at Quigley Contracting, as one of the largest agricultural contractors in the Southern Hemisphere we pride ourselves on being able to partner with our clients in their farming operations and offer them a wide range of agricultural services.
To do this work we operate a large fleet of modern machines which we predominantly service ourselves through our workshop of 5 mechanics.
We are currently seeking a workshop foreman to join the team to run the day to day activities in the workshop, and oversee the maintenance of our gear.
Based at our yard in Tinwald, Ashburton and reporting to our Workshop & Fleet manager this new role will involve:
*Working closely with our Operations Managers, to book in work ensuring our gear is maintained to a very high standard
*Distributing this work to our team of 5 full time mechanics on a daily basis
*Running a roster with the workshop manager to provide 24/7 service backup.
*Providing hands-on assistance to mechanics when the workload is heavy.
Driving Health and Safety in the workshop to ensure all work is completed safely.
To be successful in this role you will have:
*A mechanical background and at least 3 years’ experience
*Proven knowledge & experience with agricultural machinery
*A strong focus on safety and quality of the work your team produce
*Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead people and delegate tasks.
*Ability to work rostered weekends in peak of season (Oct – March)
*Current, valid driving licence (Class 4 is advantageous, but not a necessity)
*Importantly, a strong desire to work in a team environment, get stuck in during the busy times and be able to have a laugh along the way.
This role would be ideally suited to someone looking to take the next step up from being an agricultural mechanic and lead a team of people to deliver results.
