We are seeking a motivated, high performing operations manager to lead Council’s water, wastewater and stormwater operations. This is a senior position within Infrastructure & Assets Management with responsibility for ensuring that our 3 Waters systems are delivered, operated and maintained in line with best practice. You will be commercially savvy, with the ability to coach and mentor your team to ensure service excellence and operational practices that produce efficiency and productivity gains.
The position has responsibility for contract development, procurement and management of outsourced services providers. This includes ensuring that Council’s procedures for managing Health & Safety are complied with by service providers and contractors. You will be leading a team of five, ensuring coordination with other cross functional teams to lead the direction of the 3 Waters group.
A suitable tertiary level qualification, preference in engineering or equivalent is essential, along with at least ten years’ experience or knowledge of operations of 3 Waters systems. You will have at least three years’ experience in staff management, along with knowledge of local government legislation, practices and standards. Professional membership of IPENZ or appropriate organization is preferred. A current New Zealand driver’s license is essential.
