A bit about the role….
Maintenance opportunities at Te Rapa don’t come up very often, there’s a very good reason for this, once people start working at Te Rapa, they don’t want to leave! Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for a dynamic, action orientated leader. Managing a large, highly skilled team, you will enjoy a widely varied role developing strong maintenance practices using Operational Excellent strategies and managing the performance of the maintenance teams across large scale manufacturing and utilities assets. Not just a technical guru, you will provide hands-on leadership, mentoring and coaching to the Te Rapa team with a focus on leading team culture, delivering a robust maintenance strategy and prioritising succession planning and development of team members fostering a positive learning environment allowing people to develop and shine. You will also be responsible to:

Ensure all maintenance activities are delivered to appropriate quality standards within allocated timelines and budgets
Ensure accurate monitoring of costs, work and scheduling and that CMMS data is current and accurate
Build and manage relationships with contractors and other key stakeholders
Manage team work loads and work with the planner to manage maintenance scheduling to ensure consistent delivery from the team

A bit about you…
Whilst a proven background in plant maintenance is key in this position, equally as important will be your ability to engage and lead a large, diverse team and be innovative and driven in the delivery of world class maintenance systems. You will bring to the role:

Previous leadership experience managing multi-disciplined trades
Some project management experience within production/engineering
Demonstrable knowledge of manufacturing plant processes and maintenance and root cause analysis
A strong understanding of continuous improvement strategies
A relevant engineering qualification would be very highly regarded or trades qualification
Strong people and relationship management skills
Be an innovative thinker with strong problem solving skills
Experience with Planning and Scheduling tools and SAP
