About the business and the role
Innova Composite Helicopters is a new helicopter manufacturing company based in Auckland New Zealand. Our design features a unique monocoque composite fuselage that delivers unparalleled impact and corrosion resistance to the single turbine engine helicopter market. We have built and flown two prototype aircraft and are now commencing out Part 27 type certification program.

We are a small and nimble team and are looking to bring on board an experienced professional to help carry the project through certification effectively. This is an opportunity to grow with the company as we complete this certification, prepare for production and then follow immediately into certifying additional models.

As the LAME, you are accountable for the day to day maintenance of all aircraft as directed by the FTS in coordination with the Flight Test crew:

Deliver the highest standard of work to achieve the safe & timely flight test operation of aircraft
Maintain a safe work environment & demonstrate continual safe work practices
Ensure all components & materials fitted to aircraft are serviceable
Return unused parts to warehouse at project completion
Complete aircraft documentation & update maintenance documentation in recording performed operations
Manage the set of tools & equipment required for maintenance operations

Job tasks and responsibilities
You work in conjunction with other engineers & project officers, overseeing the build-up of the aircraft to the proper configuration:

Participate in the definition of standards maintenance documentation & reports
Complete all applicable documentation & ensure detail accuracy
Ensure control of assigned project(s), ensuring all work is progressively inspected & approved
Communicate any engineering matters within the organisation
Demonstrate leadership skills in a manufacturing & flight test environment
Provide expertise for instruction & training of AME’s and apprentices
Actively contribute to Lean & Continuous Improvement activities
Actively contribute to the Risk Management process
The LAME observes the rules & regulations of the company and/or the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand (CAA-NZ):

Carefully observe all company and CAA-NZ rules and regulations when performing any job duty and complete aircraft maintenance in accordance with approved data and industry practice.
Propose, choose & observe standard & compliant maintenance methods & practices
Maintain current knowledge on regulatory requirements
Tasks will include:

Complete aircraft assembly including supervision of other workers
Prepare the aircraft for flight testing
Conduct maintenance, rectification & servicing
Prepare & verify the approved configuration of the aircraft prior to a flight test:
W&B, Fuel quantity, Equipment, Loading & cabin configuration, & Documentation
Assist the flight crew with pre-flight verifications
Assist the engineer in charge of the Flight Test Instrumentation during initial installation and data uploading or downloading
Collect and report all interesting events, feedback and lessons learned RE: the maintenance, and the pre/post flight sequences
Perform special maintenance as instructed by Flight Test Engineer RE: loads, vibration, fatigue monitoring on components
Plan the necessary instruction and training for himself, AME’s and apprentices
Advise the Quality Manager in planning the maintenance instruction and training
Advise technical publications in writing the Maintenance Manual

Skills and experience
Must hold CAA-NZA Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence (or equivalent)
In depth knowledge of general rotorcraft maintenance
Experience working in an rotorcraft maintenance facility performing line, deeper and AOG Maintenance
Knowledge of and familiar with rotorcraft systems operations and testing
Computer and software skills
Willingness in observing and developing strong aviation safety structure and concepts
Skilled in communication within a professional and expert environment
Able to take on responsibilities and able to lead a team
Be medically fit
Be proficient in the English language
