Massey University Veterinary Teaching Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a qualified veterinary nurse or veterinary technician wishing to work with horses and occasionally other large or companion animals. We operate a busy equine primary and referral practice with a large equine hospital and full surgery facilities. You will be responsible for the care of medical and surgical cases within the hospital.
You will also be involved in teaching veterinary and veterinary technology students so you must have a passion for imparting knowledge and practical teaching. The successful candidate must also have a commitment to their own professional development.
The position will involve some evening/night duties and on-call work for the equine and large animal services. Although you will be primarily working in our equine hospital, you may be required to work in our companion animal hospital.
You will be expected to work a 37.5 hour week but must be prepared to work overtime and outside of normal hours of work. You should be enthusiastic, motivated, organised, service-orientated, possess excellent communication and organisational skills.
