We are seeking networking and security specialists to join our Auckland team. In these roles you will assist our enterprise clients to:
Identify and assess risks, and define or enhance policies, practices and systems that protect enterprise networks, systems, applications and data and prevent unauthorized access or disruption
Capture business, functional and non-functional requirements for enterprise network and security solutions
Design, implement, test and hand over new or upgraded network and security solutions
Operate, modify and troubleshoot network and security systems and elements
Identify, assess and respond to security incidents
Test and validate the security stance of various systems through penetration testing and system reviews.
Test and validate the availability and recoverability of various system elements through reviews and testing.
You will often work on site with our contracted clients as a subject matter expert, working with other security specialists, project stakeholders, and operations stakeholders to achieve planned objectives and maintain secure and reliable operations. You will have access to guidance and support from your OSS Group colleagues. You will also contribute to the preparation of OSS Group proposals and reports for our clients, and identify opportunities for improvements within client and OSS Group processes and environments, and opportunities for additional business within client environments.
Skills and Certifications
The successful candidates will have significant expertise and experience in:
Networking concepts, protocols, standards and controls
The design and operation of enterprise networks, including LAN-MAN-WAN switching, routing, multi-pathing and HA, load balancers and proxies – preferably including Cisco, Checkpoint, F5, Fortinet and/or Juniper.
Information security and risk management concepts, standards and controls
The design and operation of security elements including firewalls, authentication, authorization and identity management systems, intrusion detection and prevention systems, content inspection systems and application firewalls
Network analysis of common web protocols
Other general infrastructure experience.
The successful candidates will also have a:
Strong oral and written communication skills
Organised and methodical working style
Strong commitment to delivering a positive outcome and client success
Ability to work independently, and collaboratively as part of a team
Ability to communicate and consult with business and technical stakeholders.
Ability to understand clients’ objectives and constraints, derive requirements from these, propose and deliver solutions meeting those requirements
Experience in delivering solutions as part of a structured methodology.
Willingness to travel occasionally.
Willingness to undertake occasional outside hours or on-call work
NZ citizenship or work permit.
Network and security certifications will be highly regarded, but are not essential to the role.
