Become the recognised ‘specialist’ of AUT’s new Academic Engine!
High energy, high impact and innovative data mining and business focussed opportunities
Critical upcoming initial 12 month fixed term, potential November start
AUT invites expressions of interest from experienced, intelligent Business Change Analysts for upcoming opportunities. A key area in ICT where roles arise is the team working on the University’s Student Management System (Arion), in particular on the new ‘Academic Engine’ being created as part of the Arion refresh project. The Academic Engine will manage academic regulations and inform Academic staff of students’ activity in order to support the management of the Students progress to completion.
A Business Change Analyst would assess the viability of the Academic Engine software to support the creation and ongoing use of the programme regulations required for AUT current and future planned programmes. This would ensure that the Academic Engine both meets the business requirements and identifies any new requirements, in order to secure the delivery of an Academic Engine that AUT requires in 2015.
The Business Change Analyst provides leadership in all administrative and operational services with regard to the Academic Engine, working closely with key AUT stakeholders to establish ‘As is’ with the old and modelling the ‘Proposed’ regulations. They are responsible for formal feedback to the software development process by the production and management of Business Change Requests and Software issues (both functional and usage) and would coordinate workflows, be involved in the architecture of the Academic Engine and thrive on taking ownership of high-level business, architectural and performance problems (etc) from end to end. The Business Change Analyst would also deliver the migration map of Old Academic regulations to new Academic Courses of Study being deployed and designs and reviews ‘best fit’ solutions. These are busy, varied opportunities delivering high end results towards a hugely important area of work for the University!
The Business Change Analyst would be dealing with a huge amount of complex data which would need to be re-factored into the new Academic Engine. Critical is the ability to balance this high level data mining ability with an understanding of the business and a strong commercial approach to analysis, development and product deployment. Your experience would include:
An individual with extensive experience who is either currently, or has recently been, a Business Process Engineer and BI Analyst – or Systems Analyst. You will have extensive experience in the deployment of Enterprise Applications. Significant modelling capabilities are desirable
Experience working on a major enterprise application
Proven analytical/statistical skills working with and understanding large data sets
Proven experience in leading and motivating an effective team to support configuration management in a high volume work environment.
Proven experience with formal analysis, change management, documentation and modelling techniques.
