Job Description
Purpose of the role
The magazine assistant provides a range of support to ensure the success of Organic NZ magazine.
Organic NZ magazine is the flagship publication of the Soil & Health Association, a national membership organisation founded in 1941 to promote healthy soil and food production. We’re the leading voice on organics and soil health advocacy in New Zealand.

To drive excellence in customer support for magazine subscribers.
To ensure the smooth-running of magazine operations such as distribution and payment processing.
To grow the reach and impact of the magazine through increased circulation and sales.
The person in this role will also produce some magazine and website content and will support Organic NZ magazine through involvement in special projects.

Person Specification
The magazine assistant must be well-organised and have good attention to detail. They will be experienced with teamwork. They will demonstrate an ability to provide excellent service to customers and the general public.
The person in this role is happy to manage multiple ongoing tasks such as record-keeping and correspondence whilst also working to deadline on project-based work such as magazine production and distribution.
They will be computer literate and comfortable using membership databases, accounts software, and website CMS.
Ideally the magazine assistant will have experience with, or an interest in, magazine publishing. A commitment to the values of the Soil & Health Association would be beneficial.

Confidence with computer technology including Microsoft Office and databases

Proven organizational skills and problem-solving abilities
