Job Description

We are Aotearoa’s leading private land conservation organisation. Our vision is ‘Inspiring conservation on private land’ and we partner with landowners across the country to protect natural and cultural heritage sites on their land forever.
QEII is growing and we’re looking for a coordinator to provide operational support services within our Land Protection Team. This role is based in Wellington and reports to our Operational Services Team Leader.

Our Land Protection Team deploys our regional representatives who are located across Aotearoa, supporting them to achieve QEII’s strategic objectives. The core functions of the Team involve new protection, management of existing protected areas, and assisting our regional representatives’ engagement with local stakeholders and communities.
The Operational Services Coordinator is responsible for contributing to and administering projects and supporting Team Leaders and their teams to coordinate their work programmes, monitor, and report on progress.
This role supports our health and safety management system and contributes to the development and administration of our internal contestable fund and external funding opportunities. It will also include supporting the renewal of regional representatives’ contracts and annual work schedules, together with monitoring and reporting to inform quality contract performance management. This role will involve project management, coordination and report writing.

We’re looking for someone with a real interest in protecting Aotearoa’s natural and cultural heritage, and a passion for customer service and process improvement.

• Expertise using Microsoft Excel
• Any qualifications and/or experience in a similar role/environment
• The ability to work by yourself but be equally comfortable working closely in a team
• Attention to detail and process improvement ability.

Preference will be given for candidates with:
• Experience in the administration of contestable funds and/or health and safety management systems.
• Excellent data analysis and report writing skills.
