The Role
The organisation has grown significantly over the last 15 years. This newly created role has been carefully considered and developed, as the result of identifying a clear need to bring all financial management and support inhouse. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference and make your mark in this amazing organisation.
This role will be suited to a good all round accounting professional who isn’t afraid to get stuck into day-to-day accounting duties alongside the finance team with your first project being to bring the accounting function for the organisation inhouse working alongside the existing external accounting provider to ensure a smooth transition.
You will be tasked to lead and manage the OCH financial, support and infrastructure functions, providing expertise and guidance to the Senior Management Team, ensuring the organisation complies with all accounting and charitable entity standards.
You will be a qualified and seasoned accounting and financial management expert. You will be experienced in managing and supporting IT and administrative functions and have experience reporting information at board level and be a strong, supportive, collaborative leader of people.

Duties & Responsibilities
Day to Day Accounting Duties – oversee the smooth running of the organisation’s accounting functions including payroll
Strategy & Leadership – You will take an active role in developing strategy, driving quality improvement, and managing risk with financial, IT and Information Systems strategies
Financial – You will provide executive oversight and support of the Hospice’s finance function including payroll and leading the preparation of the annual budget
Infrastructure (Support, IT, Facilities) – You will ensure that all non-clinical administrative functions are meeting the needs of the organisation in an efficient and cost-effective manner
Staff Management – You will have multiple direct reports and so must demonstrate a strong yet collaborative leadership style
Compliance – You will ensure the organisation is always acting within professional standards and ethics and mindful of discretion and confidentially

Experience & Qualifications Required
Bachelor or higher-level qualification in accounting and finance
10 years + relevant work experience
Clean drivers’ licence
Criminal and financial checks required
