Security Monitoring Operator – Te Wananga o Aotearoa – Waikato

We currently have a vacancy for an experienced Security Monitoring Operator to ensure the on-going operational effectiveness of security systems throughout Te Wānanga o Aotearoa. This permanent rostered position, 4 days on 4 days off, is based at our Mangakōtukutuku Campus in Hamilton.

Duties for this role include monitoring surveillance systems; operating electronic security systems and radio communications; responding to system activations, communications, enquiries, complaints and requests for information; and ensuring efficient and effective operation of the day-to-day changes and updates of security databases including incident database, data evidence transfers, electronic prompts, physical files and key management systems.

The successful candidate will meet the following criteria –

clear and concise communication skills;
strong problem solving and decision making abilities;
professional presentation and grooming;
the ability to work autonomously and within a team environment;
experience in providing exceptional customer service; and
intermediate to advanced computer skills.

A certificate in a security related field along with two to three years’ experience in the security industry is preferable. Applicants will need to hold or be able to obtain a Certificate of Approval (COA) and have intermediate skills in Word and Excel. A full driver’s licence would be ideal. Candidates will need to consent to a police check.
