Service User Lead – Wellington – Emerge Aotearoa

On 1 July 2015 Richmond Services and Recovery Solutions merged to become Emerge Aotearoa; concurrently, service-user organisation Mind & Body joined us as an independent business unit. Emerge Aotearoa is a national provider of mental health, disability and addiction services that operates in 17 DHB areas and employs 1000 people. We provide mana-enhancing services that promote health and wellbeing for individuals, family, whanau and communities

Emerge Aotearoa is seeking either a full time or two part time Service User Leads to be based in either Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch.

In this exciting and rewarding role you will be responsible for:
Advising the Board of Trustees, Leadership Team and the Service Delivery Management Team on matters of service user interests in relationship to the organisation’s strategic direction
Recommending opportunities for service development and innovation, both strategically and operationally
Supporting the development of the organisational culture and processes to enhance service user, family and whanau recognition, inclusion and participation
Providing leadership for the enhancement of peer roles, peer leadership and peer services
Facilitating meaningful feedback from service users for utilisation in service development
The ideal candidate/s will have personal lived experience as a user of mental health and/or addiction services, as well as a minimum of 2 years experience working in the Mental Health and/or addiction sector where you have been able to identify, develop or embed service user focused initiatives. It is essential that the candidate has a current WRAP plan (or similar) and full clean driver’s licence. Some travel will be required
