Permanent, part time position (0.75FTE) – 60 hours a fortnight
Nelson based with flexibility to work district wide
Nelson Marlborough District Health Board (NMDHB) has approximately 2,450 employees across the Nelson Marlborough district. Our Health, Safety & Wellbeing Team provides advice and support to our staff and managers throughout the organisation.
We are inviting applications from professionals with a relevant Health and Safety qualification who have a sound track record of creating a positive safety culture, and who ideally have experience in a health environment.
This role will work as member of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team – contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of a Workplace Health, Safety and Wellbeing Management System for NMDHB.

Our preferred applicant will have a proven track record and a background that includes:
Diploma OHS Level 6 (or equivalent) – essential
Development and implementation of a Health & Safety strategy
Experience in auditing for Health, Safety and Wellbeing
The ability to successfully implement change
Experience in working with multidisciplinary teams in a multifaceted organisation
Proven experience in the design and delivery of safety training programs
Understanding of bicultural issues
Excellent organisation and communication skills
Adaptable to change and a flexible ‘can do’ attitude
Ability to work both as a team member and autonomously
NEBOSH International General Certificate – desirable
Experience and understanding of the Healthcare environment – preferred
Registered as a Safety Professional Affiliate – preferred
