North Port Events is a specialist exhibition company leading the market in New Zealand in producing quality events that connect suppliers and their markets. With an eye to the future, they have recently established the highly successful Facilities Integrate Show – connecting businesses operating in facilities, infrastructure, AV and ICT design and integration. After a highly successful inaugural show, they seek a dynamic and savvy Sales Manager to realise the growth potential that exists for the next year and beyond.
You will be an action oriented and professional Sales Manager with a proven track record in telephone-based sales; including cold calling as well as high level face to face with decision makers, and sales strategy and execution for your show. While the role has some existing customer sales building on previously successful shows, primarily your skill and strategic focus is on maximizing future potential and identifying new sales opportunities.
Sales activity encompasses both exhibitors and sponsors, and is predominantly office based outbound calling. You will have a strategic approach, with a strong ownership of results, and the ability to interact with key support functions to deliver a world class event.Your experience will include sales to technology sector customers across IT, telecommunications, and facilities infrastructure or similar. Familiarity with industry associates and stakeholders is highly desirable and event or conference sales experience would also be great.
You will be mature in outlook and business savvy; competent talking through budgets and numbers, and able to liaise with senior level managers and business owners. You lead by example with your drive and energy and bring a great positive personality and self-managing work style to the office. You need to be a very organized and capable multi-tasker, disciplined in meeting sales targets and priorities, with a strong sense of urgency. You can juggle a number of requirements simultaneously, and are used to a fast paced deadline driven environment with daily and weekly KPI’s and targets to meet, enjoying the buzz that this creates and the opportunity to lead by example.
