The Ministry of Education is the Government’s lead advisor on the New Zealand education system, shaping direction for sector agencies and providers. We currently employ a head-count of approximately 3,500 over multiple locations across New Zealand.
The payroll team is split over two locations, Auckland and Wellington. We are currently looking for a Payroll Advisor to join our hard working Wellington team on a fixed term basis.
Located in the CBD, the successful applicant will be responsible for processing changes to employee records including general data changes, new hires and terminations, checking input from other members of your team and answering employee pay and leave queries.
Ideally, the successful applicant must have experience in a large organisation working within an end to end payroll function for over 1000 staff. Exceptional communication, organisation and time management skills are essential to succeed in this role together with a demonstrated ability to work in a versatile, ever changing, end to end payroll environment.
You must be a competent user of Microsoft Office and be a fast and willing learner. You must be proactive and not afraid to ask questions. A sound working knowledge and experience in payroll procedures, systems and legislation is highly desirable.
