Christians Against Poverty is a New Zealand charity working to relieve Kiwi families of the burden of debt, poverty and its causes. We do this through three, free main services: in-depth debt counselling, financial literacy courses, and employment clubs. Insolvency and Specialist Advice Team Administrator
The Insolvency and Specialist Advice Team is responsible for giving advice and support to our Debt Centre clients in areas around insolvency and complicated debts. They play a vital role in offering CAP’s solution to clients who experience hardship, in order to help them become debt free. The person in this role will need to be motivated by deadlines, a good problem solver and to be able to work under pressure. This is an opportunity to work within a vibrant, deadline driven team who are dedicated to giving families the best options to get out of debt – supporting them practically and spiritually.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Processing insolvency applications on behalf of clients from start to finish.
Following up clients to chase required forms and documents as well as explaining the recommended type of insolvency and consequences to them.
Processing and supporting clients making Kiwisaver Hardship applications.
Providing detailed information and advice to caseworkers and clients with regards to individual debts.
Applying up to date credit law and consumer rights as applicable to client’s cases.
Dealing with client enquiries via their caseworker in specialist advice cases.
Come up with alternative solutions in cases where clients are not able to go insolvent.
Assisting the Team Leader to streamline processes and create efficiencies in the insolvency department.
Any other duties as required by the Team Leader.
The right person for this role will have the following qualities:

Excellent administration skills
Ability to focus and prioritise time, tasks and attention in a pressured environment
Ability to work accurately and quickly and pay attention to detail
Confident user of Microsoft Office and the internet
Comfortable around numbers and things financial
A confident, quick learner with a capacity for large workloads
Ability to remain calm and professional when communicating in challenging situations
Confident in communicating with clients in a way that reflects the purpose of Christians Against Poverty
Administrative experience preferably in finance or banking industry
Experience of having to work using your own initiative
Experience of working as part of a team
Experience of reaching out to individuals and sharing your Christian faith with them
