The primary function of the H&S Advisor is to lead and manage the on-going development of a strong, positive safety culture to ensure compliance obligations are met and to facilitate continuous improvement, learning and the ongoing success of the H&S function. This will be achieved by advising, educating and supporting management, supervisors and staff on health and safety, enabling the development of a strong and proactive culture around safety, compliance and well-being within the business.

Key duties:

Work with senior management to lead a strong positive H&S culture throughout the organisation.

Work with senior leadership to agree on behaviours important at a leadership level and to assist in communicating expectations to staff and managers through inductions and ongoing training.

Ensure the company meets all H&S legislative requirements and that training and licensing records are kept fully up to date and managed effectively.

Provide the regular, timely and accurate inductions, training, investigations and reporting.

Develop and monitor effective risk assessment strategies and implement these strategies in a timely and impactful way.

Ensure incidents, accidents and near-misses are formally investigated and maintain thorough records of any investigations.

Work collaboratively with the GM Environment to help ensure the overall quality assurance program runs efficiently and effectively.

You will have:

Several years of experience in a similar role, ideally within a manufacturing or farming environment.

A demonstrated ability to develop, implement and improve OH&S management systems, policies and procedures.

The ability to work with a diverse team in an effective manner.

A relevant Health and Safety qualification.
