In late 2015, the Queenstown Lakes District Council approved a new Trade Waste By-Law, which is focussed on protecting the health, safety and well-being of the community within the District. As 2016 begins, it is now time to implement, and we are seeking a Trade Waste Officer to drive this programme.
Offering competitive market based remuneration, and a range of training & professional development opportunities, this role will be responsible for delivering the Trade Waste programme for the Queenstown Lakes District.
This will include, but is not limited to:
Facilitating public and internal education relating to the Trade Waste By-Law,
Policy and procedure development and implementation
Set up and management of the related database
Processing Trade Waste applications
Once the implementation project is completed, the role will ultimately be responsible for compliance and enforcement of the By-Law conditions.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic team and to really make your mark on this new initiative within the Queenstown Lakes District. Our ideal candidate will be vibrant, willing to make a difference and care about what they do.
If you have local authority administration experience, exceptional stakeholder relationship management skills, and like what you have seen above – we want to hear from you. We are seeking candidates who ideally bring:
A tertiary diploma or degree in engineering or related field (preferably environmental sciences)
3 years’ proven experience in a local authority environment, preferably Trade Waste
Sound understanding of Information systems, including data management & analysis
Proven quality assurance procedures experience.
A current driver’s licence
