We are looking for two outstanding Receptionist /Telephonist to join our front line in the Visitor and Support Services team at Parliamentary Service.

As our Receptionist /Telephonist you will get to put your professionalism and outstanding customer care to good use in the truly unique environment that is New Zealand’s Parliament.

The Visitor and Support Services team provides professional, informative and memorable visitor experiences to members of Parliament, staff in the Parliamentary complex, the general public and other visitors. You would be part of a small team which operates two reception posts located on the ground floor entrances to the Parliamentary Precinct as well as Parliament’s telephone exchange.

This role works across both the reception and telephone exchange; facilitating quick and efficient access to the Parliamentary precinct for official visitors in conjunction with the Parliamentary Security and the quick and efficient direction of Parliament’s internal and external telephone traffic.

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering excellent customer service
  • Demonstrated experience in reception, telephony or front line
  • Excellent communication skills and phone manner
  • Ability to multi task and be flexible.
  • Well presented, positive attitude and energy
  • Ability to think on your feet and problem solve.
  • Confident MS Office user

Ideally you will have an understanding of the Parliamentary environment and your enthusiasm, teamwork and reliability go without saying.

This position is part-time – 24 hours per week on a 7.30am to 7.00pm roster, Monday to Wednesday with flexibility around hours to cover other days when required.
