The Financial Markets Authority (FMA) aims to promote better outcomes for investors, consumers, professionals, businesses, and for the New Zealand economy. The Supervision team is part of the broader Regulation Division and monitors the conduct, competency and compliance of financial market participants.

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Adviser to join our Supervision team and have responsibility for engaging with a portfolio of market participants. We are looking for someone who understands what good conduct means and how to engage and influence our regulated population to achieve the best outcomes for consumers.

Supervision of market participants is risk-based and intelligence-led and is balanced between onsite monitoring visits, licence assessments and desk-based reviews. This role actively engages with regulated entities and individuals.

You will have an enquiring mind, and broad experience within the financial services sector, an understanding of compliance frameworks, principles and methodologies.

Our ideal candidate will have been involved in large scale projects, have superior interpersonal skills and a natural curiosity, allowing you to work collaboratively to establish positive and productive relationships, both internally and externally.

You will enjoy working as part of a successful and collaborative team, coaching, mentoring and providing subject matter expertise to grow and develop members of the team.
